Usage
Using emoji in bios and captions
Emoji work best as punctuation, not as the sentence. A small number placed with intent reads better than a row used as decoration.
Start with the words
Write the sentence without emoji first. If the meaning is clear, add one or two characters where they reinforce tone or separate ideas. If the sentence needs the emoji to make sense, rewrite it.
Watch the line length
Emoji take more horizontal space than most letters. A short bio or caption can wrap differently on a phone. Preview the final text in the target app before publishing.
Keep a consistent tone
A profile that uses one style of emoji feels more deliberate than a random mix. Reusing a small set also makes the account easier to recognize.
Copy from the source
Copy the character from EmojiBase or the target platform instead of retyping it. This avoids losing joiners, variation selectors or skin tone modifiers.
